Starlink vs. ezWave
Two ways to get fast internet in the country
Both reach homes, farms and businesses the cable company skips. Here’s how they compare in the Central Valley.

Side by side
| Topic | ezWave | Starlink |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $40, one plan, no fees | $55 for 100 Mbps or $85 for 200 Mbps (select areas only); $130 for Max |
| Download | Up to 500 Mbps | Up to 100, 200 or 400+ Mbps, by plan |
| Upload | Up to 100 Mbps | Not listed with the plans |
| How the signal travels | A few miles, by radio, to one of our towers in the valley | Up to a satellite in orbit and back down |
| Latency | Under 20 ms | Longer path: every request goes to space and back |
| At 8pm | Same speed: we don’t oversubscribe the network | Starlink says speeds are slower during times of congestion |
| Installation | Free, by our own technicians | Free professional installation on the 200 Mbps and Max plans; the kit is extra |
| Static IP | Included on every account | Not on home plans |
| Data caps and contract | None and none | Unlimited data; 30-day trial |
| When something breaks | A person in our Escalon office answers, and our technicians come out | Starlink’s national support |
Starlink figures are what starlink.com shows (October 2026). Starlink’s prices and equipment cost vary by address.
When Starlink is the better choice
If none of our towers reaches your address, Starlink works almost anywhere with open sky, and it travels with you in an RV or on a boat. We’ll tell you plainly when you check your address.
When ezWave is the better choice
If one of our towers reaches you, you get more upload, lower latency for video calls and gaming, a static IP and technicians who live here, for less money.
See if ezWave reaches you
The address you type goes to ezWave's own system so we can check it. See our Privacy Policy.
